Annapolis Chamber Players (ACP) was formed in 2004 as an outgrowth of Crosswinds, and other successful chamber music experiences. Founding members include Artistic Director, Phyllis Crossen-Richardson, Sayuri Itoya Johnson, Gail Vehslage, and Shirley Yoo.

In 2007 the Players received not-for-profit status and are now a 501 (c) (3) corporation. ACP's mission is to share first-rate chamber music with the public---all ages, all venues. The ensemble features both favorite chamber works as well as lesser-known gems and demystify the genre with verbal and relaxed program notes.

ACP members have been collaborating in some capacity for 12 years. Six of the seven players have an affiliation with the University of Maryland. Two players already have doctoral degrees; two are doctoral candidates, one will begin his doctoral program in Fall 2007.
