The Annapolis Chamber Players specialize in mixed chamber music for winds, strings, and piano. Our ensemble is composed of highly trained and accomplished Annapolis-Baltimore-Washington, DC musicians. Featured compositions span the centuries –Baroque to 21st century. Rather than focus on a set genre such as a string quartet, we perform compositions for two to eight players. Our unique combinations of colors, backgrounds, and lively interchanges make chamber music fun and accessible to all.
Formed in 2004, the Annapolis Chamber Players grew out of collaborative ventures dating back to the 1990s. When we received our not-for-profit status in 2006, we expanded our programs to foster chamber music appreciation across our Maryland communities.
Highlights of our 2009-2010 season are our 3rd Classics & Gems series at St. John’s College; performance at the Baltimore County Community College, which will be televised; Crosslands in Pennsylvania; Valentine Celebration: Romantic Reverie at St. Margaret’s Episcopal Church; and our popular Tea Time Tunes, featuring an all Mozart concert accompanied by fresh scones and tea.
Our outreach programs at senior centers and remote locations enable us to share chamber music with people who might not otherwise have an opportunity to attend concerts. Our young musician programs include our annual Chamber Music Festival, Young Artist Competition Fall 2010, and summer music camp opportunities.
We appreciate the support of our patrons, friends, and the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.
