Elizabeth Meszaros

A native of Long Island, New York, Elizabeth Meszaros (Cello) received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Maryland in May 2012. She earned a Master of Music in Cello Performance from LSU, studying with Dennis Parker and a Bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance and Music Education from Ithaca College in New York, studying with Elizabeth Simkin. She has participated in the Bowdoin International Music Festival, the International Festival at Round Top, the Adriatic Chamber Music Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Heber Symphony, and Louisiana Sinfonietta. An avid chamber musician, Elizabeth is a member of the Adelphi String Quartet, recently selected to receive the University of Maryland Graduate String Quartet Fellowship. Recently Elizabeth accepted engagements with the Annapolis Chamber Players, the Smithsonian Chamber Series, and the Great Noise Ensemble. She has performed around the country at venues including Alice Tully Hall and Avery Fisher Hall at Lincoln Center, as well as performances in New York, Maryland, Washington D.C., Louisiana, Texas, Maine, Arkansas, and Mississippi. As an educator, Dr. Meszaros maintains a private cello studio at the International School of Music and is the Instrumental Music Department Director at Academia de la Recta Porta International Christian Day School.
