ANNAPOLIS CHAMBER MUSIC PROJECT, JULY 12-17, 2015

annapThe Annapolis Chamber Players are launching our summer chamber music festival, the Annapolis Chamber Music Project, July 12-17, 2015.  This week-long event is geared toward music lovers of all ages. Students ages 12-18 (Grades 6-12) as well as adult amateurs who play standard orchestral instruments can participate in Master Classes, performance classes, lessons, small ensemble coaching sessions, and recitals. FREE Lunchtime Concerts will be open to the public.

A limited number of spaces are available. Participants must be able to perform at a minimum of Level 3-4 (Intermediate). Chamber music groups will be formed based on age, playing ability, and completion of a placement audition.

Jonathan Richards

Jonathan Richards (Violin) received his Bachelor’s degree in violin performance from Northern Illinois University where he studied with Mathias Tacke and Shmuel Ashkenasi of the Vermeer Quartet. He has won numerous competitions including the 2010 UMSO Concerto Compeition, CSA Symphonia Concerto Competition, Elgin Symphony Young Artist Competition, Northern Illinois University Philharmonic Concerto Competition, and the Mary Graham Lasley Scholarship Competition. He has also appeared as soloist with the Kishwaukee Symphony, the Orchestra of St. Vincent’s of Chicago, the Judson College Symphony, and the Northern Illinois University Philharmonic. Jonathan performs regularly with the Prince Williams, Fairfax, and Annapolis Symphonies and is also a member of the Adelphi String Quartet., Graduate Quartet Fellowship at the University of Maryland. Last May Jonathan received his Master of Music degree in violin performance at Maryland and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree studying with David Salness.
